Modern Hands Vol.2

This book is the culmination of the past 20 years of teaching drum set and rudimental snare drum. During that time I’ve found, to my joy, there’s a never ending supply of exercises to be found for the snare drummer for you to shed till end of time. I have also found that many a drum set player hasn’t fully explored the rudiments to enhance facility and creativity, often learning the basics and not delving any further. Years of teaching drum set players rudiments led to writing my own exercises and etudes in a more kit player mind set, the hope being to answer the myriad of technical difficulties that present them selves when pushing your hand technique. The exercises & etudes in this book were born of those teachings and the results they have yielded.

My aim with this book is that you can take a deeper look into your playing, technique and understanding of the rudiments. By going through this material correctly you will be learning all the correct motions that you need to be able to explore and express yourself more freely and in a much deeper way.
